Google favicon change discussion wrap up

Saturday, May 31, 2008

It's common when the giant does anything then we, the small ones will pay most attention on those stuffs. I have realized for few days that Google- one of the big brothers of the Web World has just changed its favicon from the previous Capital G to the current Small g favicon.

This rapid change without any alerts has made the world of internet becomes really wonder what google is doing, what is the goal of changing the previous one ? These questions have produced many debates, discussions and point of views. Some said the new one Sucks while some express other thoughts.

Personally, I miss the old one. I wonder if this is a long term change or someone at Google decided to have some fun. Or maybe Google wanted to see if the smallest, most insignificant change can drive up buzz about the company. Heck, Google can hiccup and people will not stop talking about it. Case in point?

I first thought the site has been phished or something happened... But realized it was just a favicon change. I like the capitalized 'G' that was earlier there... Infact I now see gmail also showing the new favicon!

In my opinion, whatever is great!! The previous is what i get used to seeing so it's always great while the new one is really stylish which satisfies me. Never accept the status quo!!! The updates should be implemented occasionally to collapse the world ;)

It's you side now!! what do you think ? do you prefer the google's current favicon to the previous or in contrary ??

12 graduation exams finished in Vietnam

Vietnam has already finished organizing its 3-day( the 28th, 29th and 30th of May 2008.) 12 graduation exams which was participated by over 1 million Vietnamese students the most crowed ever in its history. According to VNexpress, 600 candidates left the exam while 50 others had accidents. The following i am to post some tests; Mathematics, Physics, and Chemists. Hope this would help the Cambodians student to get some experiences for the coming exams too. Shh.. the most frustrated and aggressive subject is still physics... i don't know it's fortune or unfortunate that i did a childish physics test when i was in the 12 graduation exam the i got A grade for physics ;)

Vietnam reports "UFO" explosion while Cambodian says it's plane crash

Thursday, May 29, 2008

Last year if i am not wrong there were a plane crash which killed many Cambodian and foreign passengers in Kampot province since the authority seemed not to be in hurry to rescue the lives. The plan was uncovered days after the accident. The day before yesterday, i was alerted from google that there were a same case happening again in Kampot. Meanwhile, the news was too short because nothing was revealed exactly. They just concluded that it's a plan crash again. The following is what i have just got from Reuters.

HANOI (Reuters) - An unidentified flying object exploded in mid-air over a southern Vietnamese island, state media said Wednesday, a day after Cambodia's air force retracted a report of a mysterious plane crash.

The Vietnam News Agency said residents of Phu Quoc island, 10 km (6 miles) off the coast of the Cambodian province of Kampot, found shards of grey metal, including one 1.5 meters (1.5 yards) long.

"The explosion happened at about 8 km (5 miles) above the ground, and perhaps it was a plane, but authorities could not identify whether it was a civil or military aircraft," VNA said in a report headlined "UFO explodes over Phu Quoc Island."

Soldiers were sent out to look for wreckage and survivors, and local authorities contacted airlines in Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand, but received no reports of missing aircraft, the official state news agency added.

Villagers in Kampot said Tuesday that they had heard a loud explosion. Wednesday they told Reuters they had found small chunks of metal near the coastline.

Kung Mony, deputy commander of Cambodia's Air Force, said Tuesday he had been told of a foreign plane crashing in Kampot province, but later backed off his claims of an aircraft accident.

Only in Cambodia

Monday, May 26, 2008

Watching back to the 1950s when Cambodia was one of the most powerful and developed countries in South East Asia, all fields in Cambodia were all in advanced ranging from agriculture to industry. Civil wars have happened to this country time and time again; which drives the country deteriorated from year to year.

I remember when i was about 7, the railway in Cambodia still worked smoothly. Unfortunately 5 or 6 years later, when i came to see that again, it seemed to be ruined seriously. I didn't know what happened or they use it but it had never been in maintenance. The rail on which the train run was as low as the ground. I kept asking myself: what if the train borrowed the road to roll on.
Nowadays, the train isn't for the people anymore as it is used to transfer goods mainly from Phnom Penh to others provinces. If you go to my hometown, Banteay Mean Chey province you'll be able to see and try something like the following photos ;)i assure it will be fun to be on it rolling to the remote countryside and get some fresh air.

Royal Oxen Predict Fair Harvest for Year

Saturday, May 24, 2008

Ploughing Ceremony
If the royal oxen are to be believed, Cambodia will see fair harvests of rice, corn and beans in the upcoming year.
In the annual royal plow ceremony Friday, which marks the beginning of the rainy se
ason, the oxen chose those three staples following three rounds of plowing, foregoing water, grass and wine.

Their crop prediction also indicates the Cambodian people will be spared calamity, disease and natural disaster, royal astronomer Kang Ken said.

The royal ceremony was attended by King Norodom Sihamoni, National Assembly President Heng Samrin and other dignitaries. Not in attendance were Prime Minister Hun Sen and Senate President Chea Sim.

“I am very happy for the result of the royal plough ceremony,” said Meas Kunthea, a farmer from Svay Rieng province.

“I am very happy because my home village plants rice, corn and bean and will have fair production in this year,” said Kratie province farmer Koa Top. “I’m not concerned about my agricultural crops.”

The high price of rice did cast a pall over the royal ceremony, he said. “The rice price is high. I am not happy, but if I have high rice production, I will be.”

The grade 12 bye-bye day in Vietnam

Bye bye day
High school is the first place to learn seriously or even to love seriously ;) I have never forgotten the pictures of my 12 T friends. The day we left each others. The fate made us to break apart. Some have to stay in Cambodian whilst many have to left our beloved country to pursue the academy or living in the foreign.

Meanwhile in Vietnam; Tear, kisses, the relic words.. drew the say-goodbye day of the 12th grade student year 2007-2008 more and more exciting, unforgettable. These photos below are from one high school in Hanoi- Nguyen trai on may 22nd.

How do you pronounce "កម្ពុជា" ?

Friday, May 16, 2008

Kompuchea not Kampuchea
According to the fact i have experienced so far, many people knowing Cambodia especially our three neighbors- Thailand, Vietnam and Laos or even mostly Cambodians themselves call this country "Kampuchia- កាំ ពុជា".
Kompuchea not Kampuchea
Actually this word has determined the destiny of this country so far. You know "Kam..." means Karma and it's not what the word "កម្ពុជា" means to be.

Refer to the Chuon Nath, Cambodian dictionary on the page 24, the word "កម្ពុជ-pronounced 'Kom-puch'" means Gold. So the combination of the word កម្ពុជ and ជា means the country which is the orginal source of Gold, the place where the gold was born.

In conclusion, the word that Vietnamese calls Cambodia : "Cămpuchia - ă /ak/", Thai : "Kampuja" and so does Laotian is seriously wrong. In the name of a Cambodian, i would like to dedicate this article to everybody who calls Cambodia "Kam...". Please change your attitude. Let's call it: "Kompuch-which refers to Gold-ea".

I love you although you seem not to love me :)

 love Drupal
I have been curious to know Drupal and really wished to be a Drupal front and back end developer in Cambodia. I really love Drupal ranging from its logo and everything consisting in its core :)

I love Drupal
I used to start learning once but my Drupal knowledge seems not to be improved from times to times as i have been busy with school so that i feel lazy and quit it many times too :0

Now, i do a "laser-light" determination to myself to get it started again. This time i'll do it step by step, one by one, try not to be bored in studying it, collect all my efforts to study Drupal, i'll do whatever it takes to accomplish this goal.

Wish me luck!!!

Monika Lavan: a Potential Cambodian Female Scientist

Wednesday, May 14, 2008

Monika Lavan
Following the success of one cambodian student studying in Vietnam to get his Eiffel scholarship to France next year illustrated by Ijajaja in the previous post. Recently, there is another potential female scientist- so called by Miss. Kalyan KEO rising herself to the world in the United State.

Source : Miss. Kalyan KEO
I recalled the day I gave a cute, lovely girl a ride to Zamen School for her science class competition. A few week later, I heard that she won the first prize in her school. Now even much better and incredible news that she is the only Cambodian student who has been awarded a Silver medal for her project in the I-SWEEP 2008 competition. She then has been awarded a scholarship to Rice University in Texas. I am proud of her.

We Share you or VShareyou !!!!

Vshareyou
There are alot of sites out there and some i have shared you so far are sharing the books without any copyright for the publishers or the authors. In my opinion, it's not wrong to share because there are many ITer's in the rest of the world who couldn't afford the original reading books but they do seriously need them. Yet, showing the copyright mind to them is what the sharing sites should do.

Coming up with this idea, one of my internet mate discussed with my through Y!Messenger and want me to suggest him whether he should do or not. Eventually, i suggest him: "Yes!!! you should if you would like to in case you put the links of the publishers or authors' websites in order to express ur mind to them". "They'll say nothing", i added. You know, this kinda site will dramatically make a big progress when released. Therefore, linking to the publishers released those books is like you advertise for them. It'll be refunds for the fews books from those publishers.

In conclusion, today i would like to share you guys a site; for educational purpose only; advertise the publishers to express the copyright...etc- Vshareyou. Please support him!!!

Cách xin học bổng Eiffel của Pháp (English version below)

Tuesday, May 13, 2008

Tour effel

In English, By ijajaja

Eiffel scholarship is a scholarship supported by the embassy of france. The student who is chosen by this program will be awarded by a salary about 1000 Euro per month. This salary changes regularly according to the up and down of the market goods price in France.

This seems to be a high salary for the students since in average the students have to spend only 500 to 600 euro per month for food and accommodation. In previous year, 50% of the students got this scholarship are from Asian countries.
The selection process seems to be really strict because the applicants are perfect.

In order to apply for this scholarship :

September : You could get the information and the procedure at www.egide.asso.fr
Middle of January : Application deadline
April: The result is released and sent to each student and at www.egide.asso.fr

One of the most basic conditions for the students to apply for this is that the students have to contact with the university in France and ask the university to support your procedures- ( which means that they accept you to enroll their universities; recommend you to the scholarship committee .. etc). If the school agree, they will send your forms to the Eiffel scholarship committee.

In conclusion, the students must first send their forms to the school they aim to study instead of directly sending those procedures to the committee.

The student are able to contact the Scholarship control committee for more details.

My Words to Hanoi University of Techno's freshmen

It's something critical when the programs to study in Hanoi University is being promoted and consolidated years and years. The more progress HUT has done, the more difficult for Cambodian and Laotian students have. Therefore, it's really significant to re-think more about how to make your study in continuous.

Try to be present regularly
You come here to study not to tour so you should never skip classes in HUT. The more you join class, the more information you get. This info is not special in the meantime but it's very important for your coming exam. Many points of the test are extracted from the school lecture. You'll feel that you really need ur notebook when the exams come, You'll regret later when you miss one session.
Never disappointed or upset
When you go to HUT, you have to prepare yourself to be chopped. "Going to HUT is very difficult but studying in HUT is more and more difficult". Don't expect the best result for the first time you go there, Just medium is enough. Once, you'll be attacked seriously by the result you get. To be strong or you'll be defeated !!!
Optional: Try to be acquainted with Vietnameses
It's not what i do but i recommend you to do this. Your girl classmates is the one you should be closed with since they work hard and more industrious than they guys who mostly are lazier. If you are close with the girls, in ur first or second year, you'll need many helps from them.

I absolutely don't implement the third point myself because i don't like their selfishness so that i have to find out everything myself; which takes much times to reach to the goal. I strongly suggest you to work the third out if you don't wanna get stressful much of the time as i have done so far :(

Hope this is the useful ideas to get your study at Hanoi University of Technology in progress.

Award-Winning Journalist Praises Congressional Resolution Honoring Dith Pran

Friday, May 9, 2008

08 May 2008

The U.S. Congress recently passed a resolution to honor the late Cambodian photographer Dith Pran, the Khmer Rouge survivor whose life story was made into an award-winning movie 'The Killing Fields'. The U.S. Senate resolution calls the photo-journalist who died at the end of March, a 'modern-day hero'.

Sydney Schanberg, the long-time friend and colleague of the late New York Times photographer Dith Pran, says he is pleased to hear Congress recognize his friend's works and legacy, but wishes there was more than just a resolution in his honor.

Speaking to VOA Khmer by phone from his home in New York, Schanberg said he would like to see action.

"Pran would be more impressed if governments, legislators, and presidents and so forth, did more than pass resolutions, by doing something to prevent genocide from happening."

The U.S. Senate passed a resolution, introduced by Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse on April 29th, to honor the human-rights advocate whose heroism during the genocide perpetrated by the Khmer Rouge regime was documented in the Academy Award-winning 1984 film 'The Killing Fields'.

The House of Representatives also passed a similar resolution this week (May 6th) that says it 'honors the life and legacy of Mr. Dith for his commitment to raising awareness about the atrocities that took place under the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia'.

Dith Pran worked as an interpreter for Sydney Schanberg who covered the war in Cambodia for the New York Times when the Khmer Rouge took over Cambodia on April 17, 1975. Pran was credited with saving Schanberg's life by negotiating with the Khmer Rouge to let Schanberg and the other foreign journalists leave.

Mr. Dith stayed behind in Cambodia. In 1979 when Vietnamese soldiers invaded Cambodia and toppled the Khmer Rouge regime, he escaped to Thailand. In 1980 he migrated to the United States to reunite with his wife and children who left Cambodia just before the Khmer Rouge takeover.

Their ordeal was made into the movie.

Mr. Dith dedicated his life to educate people about the genocide in Cambodia by giving lectures at colleges around the United States, while continuing to work for the New York Times as a photojournalist until earlier this year when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He died of the disease March 30th in New Jersey.

Senator Whitehouse's communication director and spokeswoman, Alex Swartsel, this week explained to VOA why Pran was chosen.

"Senator Whitehouse felt that Dith Pran is an extraordinary person, someone who has worked tirelessly throughout his life to educate the people of the world and the people of America about what had happened to his people in Cambodia. Someone who had endured extraordinary personal trial and great difficulty, and was worthy of this recognition."

Schanberg said Dith Pran did not just talk about the genocide that took place in Cambodia, but against genocide around the world.

"His message was that we always say that 'never again'. It should never happen again and of course it keeps happening again, so Pran's goal was to made 'never again' a realty, not just a phrase.

Dith Pran's widow, Se Moeun Dith, told VOA Khmer in a phone interview this week that she was very happy about the resolutions.

She says she is very touched that the U.S. Congress has chose her husband, who tried to bring the message to the world and the United States about the tragedies in Cambodia during that period of time.

An estimated one-point-seven-million people died of starvation, sickness, and extrajudicial killings in Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge from April 1975 to January 1979.

The five surviving top Khmer Rouge leaders are in their 70s and in custody of a U.N.-assisted tribunal awaiting trial. They are charged with crimes against humanity and war crimes.

I have been taught to be a singer since a kid

My parents are not artists but they seriously like singing or dancing. My mother used to be a well- known khmer poetry singer in school while my father was the one who liked to style himself when he was young. At the moment, you could always find his photos on the stages of the wedding which he is invited.

During 1990s, we hardly found Karaoke set in a private family. Meanwhile there were many Karaoke shop opened. In every special occasion such as: Cambodian New Year's day..etc every khmer people liked to go to those shop and sing to entertain themselves and so did my parents. I was always taken to the shop too. The first time when i got there, i were really afraid and shy. I was asked to sing fews song by my parents but i always refused; which made my father always angry with me ;)

Two years later, i started to command the songs for myself. That time he was really surprised and said " Good job, son ".

Now we stop going to those shop anymore since my father bought a set of Karaoke : Mixer, Two enormous speakers, one CD, DVD player, Two microphone ;) When i go back, i always close all the windows and doors to shout into the microphone.

You know, not only can you hear me singing Karaoke but you could also hear me singing when riding motobike sometimes( Oopss!!! bad attitude !! ), while i am doing washing-up, while i come back from the university. Most of the time, i sing ;)

Hey come on !!! I like to sing but i am not good at singing.

Whether the North is right or Wrong

Thursday, May 8, 2008

I have been studying in one of the most well-known school in the north of Vietnam-Hanoi University of Technology. I have been told since i was a freshman that: "You learn to be a manager not a programming worker, You are taught how to do not the tool to do it "..

You know — engineers, programmers, developers; people who live and love actually building stuff for people to use - not just talking about it. People who are “only” thinkers, architects, or who want others to write code need not apply. (Just as with any open source project, respect and authority comes by doing and earning it - not claiming it.)
Visiting acquia, i came across this sentences which has also existed in my mind so far. I think Cambodia is needing workers, and so is the world. I am not saying the university i am in is wrong. But i just still wonder whether it's right to do so. Till now, everything i have studied is theories, we lost many practices. They don't teach as programming language such as Java, C#...etc but only Pascal and Algorithm. I am always annoyed repeatedly by one sentence : "The specific programming language is easy, we just spend 2 or 3 weeks so that we could use it accurately; i am still wondering whether the ones said that manage to do it".

Not only Cambodia, if you were in the university in the South of Vietnam, you'd meet everything interesting as Cambodia and the world is focusing. The university gives you many practices and specific programming languages you need for your future career.

Cambodia donates Myanmar

An E-mail from Google News with the headline "Cambodia donates $50000 to cyclone-hit Myanmar". I was really surprise when I got that E-mail. This is the charity of our country to our ASEAN friend, Myanmar, one of the poorest country in region. The latest news, more than 22,000 Myanmar people were kill by cyclone in this recent days and Burmese state media reported on Tuesday that 22,464 people had now been confirmed dead and another 41,054 people were missing. Up to a million people are thought to have been left homeless in the crisis, which has left thousands of square kilometres of the Irrawaddy delta under water. That would be the nightmare for Myanmar in this new year.
Here is the whole news that Google sent me:

"PHNOM PENH, May 7 (Xinhua) -- The Cambodian government on Wednesday donated 50,000 U.S. dollars to cyclone-stricken Myanmar to relieve the difficulties there, said Hor Namhong, Cambodian Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

"This small amount of money is our people and government's spirit and heart to help the Myanmar people and government which is our friend in the ASEAN family," Hor Nam Hong told reporters at his office after he met with a Myanmar diplomatic official on Wednesday morning.

Hor Namhong handed over the donation to Aung Naing, Myanmar Ambassador to Cambodia, after they talked about the cyclone disaster in Myanmar.

"The Cambodian people and government join the condolences for Myanmar's families and the government who suffered from the cyclone disaster. It is our sadness," Hor Nam Hong said.

Cambodia also conveyed a wish for the referendum in Myanmar to succeed, he added."

This maybe not enough to help about thousands Myanmar people, but it can help many of them to service for their food, clothes...

Media means in Cambodia affecting young Cambodians' brain

Wednesday, May 7, 2008

If you always watch Cambodia's TV channel such as CTN, Bayon..etc; you'll hear every time, every program the sentence stated that: "Cambodia is peaceful- Cambodians are happy".

It seems to be right mirroring from those programs of those channels. The shows in most days of the week are entertainment, entertainment and entertainment. Here, i would like to mention only one channel i catch up daily, CTN(Cambodian Television Network).

Many khmer teenagers said : "I love CTN, i Love to be a star". I was impressed by little pupils illustrated on CTN every Sunday morning since they all said that: "I love to be a star". It's not the wrong thing to have a talent in one specific thing but through this u'll know the influence of the media affecting the coming generation.

I don't exaggerate, it seems everything on CTN now are for money money and money.
When it started, CTN was a really interesting, helpful and useful channel i had ever seen in Cambodia. There were many programs giving you general knowledge about IT, Economy.. etc. At that time, the advertisement on CTN were obviously shown properly. I mean there were times for advertisement and times for other programs. Now whenever i turn on the TV, the commercial spot always comes out :) i hardly find the useful one when i press down the TV button.

At the moment, many programs has been deleted. More bureaucracy increases. Some of those MC's there even don't know English. For me, i think every stuff in one media mean should have some knowledges about English and others knowledge related. MC in one program should be chosen according to the program. Now you can see many old MC are selected to host a really teenage program there. Let's study the good things from our neighbor or even some developed countries.

Breast Cancer, The hot problem you need to know

Tuesday, May 6, 2008

This is also one of the current top topics ranking after the AIDS problem in the world. Few weeks ago, i listened to this problem on RFA but the explanation seems not too clear to understand in details. Hope this would be a helpful resource for you to find out and cure sooner before to get into the serious condition.Following is a detail from New York Times
Breast cancer is a cancer that starts in the tissues of the breast.

Type, There are two types of breast cancer:

  • Ductal carcinoma starts in the tubes (ducts) that move milk from the breast to the nipple (most cases).

  • Lobular carcinoma starts in parts of the breast, called lobules, that produce milk.

Causes

  • Age and gender: The majority of advanced breast cancer cases are found in women over age 50. Women are 100 times more likely to get breast cancer then men.

  • Family history of breast cancer: You may also have a higher risk for breast cancer if you have a close relative has had breast, uterine, ovarian, or colon cancer (about 20 - 30%).

  • Genes:Some people have genes that make them more prone to developing breast cancer. The most common gene defects are found in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes.

  • Menstrual cycle: Women who get their periods early (before age 12) or went through menopause late (after age 55) have an increased risk for breast cancer.

Other risk factors

  • Alcohol use

  • Childbirth

  • Hormone replacement therapy

  • Obesity

  • Radiation

Symptoms

Early breast cancer usually does not cause symptoms. As the cancer grows, symptoms may include:
  • Breast lump or lump in the armpit that is hard, has uneven edges, and usually does not hurt.

  • Change in the size, shape, or feel of the breast or nipple.

  • Fluid coming from the nipple -- may be bloody, clear-to-yellow, or green, and look like pus.

Treatment

  • Chemotherapy medicines to kill cancer cells.

  • Radiation therapy to destroy cancerous tissue.

  • Surgery to remove cancerous tissue.

  • Hormonal therapy to block certain hormones that fuel cancer growth.

Breast cancer it doesn't mean that only women get, but men also can get breast cancer too. And this are symptoms of breast cancer on men:
  • Symptoms include breast lump and breast pain and tenderness.

  • Bone pain.

  • Breast pain or discomfort.

  • Skin ulcers.

  • Swelling of one arm (next to breast with cancer).

  • Weight loss.

First of all, i wanna say that i am right here to violate Megaupload. Women's lives in many countries are difficult

Monday, May 5, 2008

Yesterday i was asked to write on one topic. Actually it's for speaking not writing test anyway so that some of the word i used there are like the word when speaking. I spent about 30 minutes composing it. Let evaluate what i was writing ;)

Women's lives in many countries are difficult. To what extent(point) do u agree with this assessment? what should be done to improve women in those countries?

As we have already known, many of the women around the world ranging from the Asian third world countries to the most modern ones usually come across with many cases affecting their usual lives.

Many civil wars have taken place several times, which left numerous widows who have so far had to live their lives across the difficulties to bring up their fatherless children. This point is often found in the asian country for instance: Pol Pot regime in Cambodia for over 3 years has left many tragedy for the Women’ lives in this country.
Nowadays there is a Women day’s- March 8th. It’s said that: “Women are the mothers of the world ”; “Women manage to do what the men could do”. The ideas stated above is generally implemented by many countries around the world especially in Europe and the west at which the third world countries are hardly found. Nevertheless, it’s still the problem for Asia since many countries of which are poor and exist many uneducated people, which often leads to Women violation. “Women are able to do what the men manage to do ??” Yeah, it’s the truth. We have the brain as the men do. We are able to learn, brainstorm and think as the men do. Yet, traditionally in Laos, or Cambodia the proverb-“The women couldn’t go around the kitchen”- always survives in the old generations of this country. As a result, a lot of family don’t even send their daughter to school by usually said the proverb above. That’s ridiculous ?? Relatively Yeah but it’s the truth.
The target of the human trafficking mainly happens to women. The more human trafficking case increase, the more risk the women ran into. This could be seen through Vietnam, Cambodia or Thailand- the hottest point of prostitution.

As the problems above exists there’ll be solutions. I would like to express some opinions to solve the inactive points described above :

The government should take some actions to educate the people about the right and knowledge about the useful function of the women in society; especially in the most rural country which the media is too difficult to arrive.

The government should try its best to crack down all pictures of human trafficking.

Eventually, the woman herself should try her best to prove that she is absolutely strong, manage to do whatever the man could. The woman should attend more society’s activities such as: presidential, parliament or national election…etc.

That’s all for me!!!!
Thanks!!!

12 Cambodians claimed fraud to work in Vietnam with higher wage

Thursday, May 1, 2008

Hanoi- 12 khmer people, an old woman and others 11 young Cambodian guys claimed this evening in A3 Dormitory- the block of Cambodian student in Vietnam that they were cheated over 200 USD in order to come to work in some factories in Vietnam.

One of the guys said that he and others were persuaded by two Vietnamese neighbours in Cambodia in order to get more salary, hundreds dollars over their current incomes. He said that 5 days ago, the group was accompanied by bus from Phnom Penh to Bavet- the border between Cambodia and Vietnam. Then they were migrated illegally through some Moto-Dop's (Moto taxi) across the border to Vietnam territory, he added.

Arriving in Saigon, they were sent through the Saigon- Hanoi train two days. Another guy who is also a victim said that: "When we arrived Hanoi train station, those two perpetrators asked us to take on the bus in order to get to the work place. The bus took about many days and when the bus stopped, those two Vietnameses left us to wait long hour". "We were hopeless, we thought that we would die in Vietnam", many said.

Fortunately, this 12 Khmer's were helped by two generous Vietnameses- a man and a small child. They were accompanied to Cambodian embassy based in Vietnam. Since today is a holiday, they were temporarily helped by Cambodian student here for accommodation and food waiting for the embassy open tomorrow.

Previously, i heard that only Cambodian were persuaded to Thai or Malaysia to work and the result is the dramatical regret when getting back to Cambodia. Now it happens to Cambodia too.I hope this article would help Cambodians to re-consider where they should choose to live and work.

I don't hate Khmer Unicode : Ijajaja

As a Cambodian (so called " Khmer "), i am very proud to have my own unicode. Every khmer loves khmer unicode. So why does Ijajaja rarely use Khmer unicode in the site ?
This question leads to many reason why you hardly see i use Khmer unicode in this site.

Currently, it's for the developer, or s.o knows IT

You know you cannot work with Khmer Unicode well with just one click, next(next) and finish.

You have to go across many steps to make it works: Set up, Update usp10.dll file, adjust some keyboard in Xp (coz when you update ur keyboard while setting up the khmer unicode keyboard will be in default). Bravo!! it doesn't happen again in Vista.

Khmer unicode doesn't support Justify align

If you don't believe me just get in one div for instance and set the property of that block: text-align to Justify, You'll see the result.

Everyone on the net knows English

I want Ijajaja to spread itself to world. Meanwile, many of Cambodians on the net now are able to read, write English. So i think Ijajaja mostly should be in English.

I assure i will promote Khmer unicode in ijajaja when the facilitation is made since no one wanna see many squares on the page.
